Brief vita
- Since June 2020, I am a Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics, in the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Systems (IIMAS), of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
- From March 2012 until May 2020, I was an Associate Professor at IIMAS, UNAM in the same department.
- From March 2007 until February 2012, I was an Assistant
Professor at IIMAS, UNAM in the same department.
- Since January 2009, I am a member of the University Program for Nonlinear Phenomena and Mechanics (FENOMEC).
- Since January 2015, I am an Associate Editor of Acta Applicandae Mathematicae, and since May 2017 I am Editor-in-chief (along with E. O'Reilly and V. Kravchenko) of the Boletín de la Sociedad Matemática Mexicana.
- During 2005 – 2006, I was a Research Assistant at the Mathematics Institute of the University of Leipzig, Germany. I belonged to the Nonlinear Continuum Mechanics group, led by Prof. Heinrich Freistühler.
- During 2003 – 2004, I was a Research Associate at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, Leipzig, Germany, in Prof. Stefan Müller's group.
- I got my Ph. D. in Mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University, under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan B. Goodman.
- My research interests include stability of traveling waves, nonlinear dynamics in continuum mechanics, and mathematical biology.
