Speed-up and memory management for parallel numerical simulation of anisotropic diffusion equations with CUDA

Resumen:
Anisotropic and heterogeneous diffusion equations can be solved numerically through the CUDA technologies obtaining an advantage in terms of speed up. The study of anisotropic diffusion equations have different fields of application such as image processing and computer vision, as well as the study of tumors' dynamic expansion and epidemics dynamics. We provide a decision-making tools to choose the appropriate binomial algorithm-memory region to get the best performance in terms of computational efficiency and reduction of calculation time for the problems described above.
