Resumen:
We will discuss the Lagrangian relative equilibria in a problem with two point masses and a symmetric spheroid with axis of symmetry perpendicular to the plane of the centers of mass. This problem exhibits a curious bifurcation of isosceles and scalene relative equilibria configurations emanating from the classical equilateral configuration for three point masses. We discuss the linear stability analysis of these families of relative equilibria based on the Reduced Energy Momentum method. (Joint work with Cristina Stoica.)
